Around a moving charge, the magnetic field is also created along with the electrical field. When electrical current passes through a conductor, it produces a magnetic field around itself. This is called the magnetic effect of electric current. Again the magnetic field around a magnet influences the electric current. Our earth is a gigantic magnet. It exhibits the directional characteristic. The directional characteristic and characteristic of the attraction of magnet are called its magnetism. In this chapter, we will learn about Oersted’s concepts of magnetic field, Biot-Savart’s law, Ampere’s law, effects of various magnetic field, the magnetism of earth, various magnetic matters and magnet, etc.
