EV HSC 1st Paper 2nd Chapter Physics Note. Vector

EV HSC 1st Paper 2nd Chapter Physics Note. Vector. The physics is one of the oldest academic disciplines, perhaps the oldest through the inclusion of astronomy. In the last two millennia, physics was a part of natural philosophy, chemistry, certain branches of mathematics and biology, but during the scientific revolution in the 17th century, the natural sciences emerged as unique in its own right research programs. Physics intersects with many interdisciplinary areas of research, such as Biophysics and quantum chemistry, and physics limits are not rigidly defined. New ideas in physics often explain the fundamentals of other sciences mechanisms, to open new avenues of research in areas such as mathematics and philosophy.

Question No. 1. At the same time, three forces are acting on a body of mass (m=10kg) which is shown in the figure-1:

EV HSC 1st Paper 2nd Chapter Physics Note. Vectora. What is called angular velocity?                                                           1

b. Though force and displacement are vector quantities, work is derived from them is a scalar quantity – Explain.                                                                        2

c. What is the magnitude of the net force acting on the body of figure-1?    3

d. Justify the validity of figure-2 with respect to figure-l.                      4

The answer to the question no. 1

a. When the time interval approaches zero the rate of change of angular displacement with time of an object revolving around a point or an axis along a circular path is called the angular velocity.

b. Work is said to be done by a force acting on a body when the body is displaced actually in any direction except in a direction perpendicular to the direction of the force. Work is defined as the product of the magnitude of the force and the component of displacement along the force or it is defined as the product of the magnitude of displacement and the component of force along the direction of displacement.

So, we can say, W = FS cos00 = F.S; So, work done is the scalar product of force vector and displacement vector. The scalar product of two vector quantities is a scalar quantity. So work done is a scalar quantity.
